Stratum 1 · The Forms

The hypothesis, at three strengths

Most controversial ideas are stated at one strength — usually the maximum — and stand or fall whole. This one is stated at three, nested, each with its commitments priced. Accepting the first commits you to no theology. Accepting the second commits you to documented history. Accepting the third is a step beyond the empirical evidence — and the whole architecture exists to make that step visible rather than smuggled.

The tiers used below are defined in the method: Tier A — established on verified external evidence; Tier B — an inference that names its premises and what would break them; Tier C — an interpretation: coherent, motivated, not established, and quarantined so its deletion costs the other tiers nothing.

1 · The minimal form TIER B

The Christian memeplex instantiates a parasitic cognitive architecture — external authority locus, guilt-based stress installation, loop-creating dependency dynamics — whose propagation persona and retention mechanism are co-adapted components of a single system. The persona functions as the conversion interface; the sin/salvation architecture functions as the retention mechanism.

In plain terms: the figure who says come unto me, all ye that labour and the doctrine that says you are born guilty and cannot pay are not in tension. They are one machine at two levels — a welcoming interface and a retention engine, fitted to each other. The interface minimizes the cost of entering; the structures installed after entry — original sin, damnation, salvation contingency — maximize the cost of leaving.

This form makes no claim about design and no claim about identity. Its evidence is functional analysis and external clinical and cognitive literature, graded row by row in the Atlas. Its named falsifiers: if high-commitment involvement in this architecture reliably produced superior long-term autonomy and cognitive flexibility in matched controls, the parasitic classification fails; if the guilt→redemption cycle fails to show its predicted dynamics when actually instrumented, the loop model fails; if persona and architecture turn out to have developed independently and been combined without mutual adjustment, the co-adaptation claim fails.

You can stop here Keep this form and discard everything below: you hold a testable structural claim about one religious architecture, and nothing else.

2 · The strong form TIER B

The minimal form, plus: the memeplex’s optimization history includes a documented component of deliberate institutional engineering — directed, recorded, self-conscious optimization of transmission, doctrinal uniformity, and institutional retention by human institutions.

This is a claim about the historical record, and the record is not subtle: councils that standardized doctrine against variant teachings; the Index Librorum Prohibitorum (1559–1966), an institution for the suppression of competing texts; the Congregatio de Propaganda Fide (founded 1622), an institution literally named for directed propagation; centuries of missionary strategy debated, recorded, and revised in writing.

Note the scope, because it matters: what the record documents is engineering of transmission and institutional retention. Whether the psychological capture architecture itself — the guilt economy, the confession cadence — was ever the object of self-conscious design is an open question, stated as such. And note what this form does not rest on: any claim that the optimization “exceeds what undirected selection would produce.” That claim has no baseline to be measured against yet, and until the baseline exists it stays quarantined below.

You can stop here Keep both forms and discard the third: you hold the structural claim plus documented history, and you have taken no position on anything beyond human agency.

3 · The full form TIER C

The strong form, plus: the co-adaptation of persona and architecture reflects one author; that author is the being the tradition itself names Lucifer; the persona is that being’s assumed identity, and the tradition’s texts, read forensically, disclose it; the Vedic knowledge systems are the counter-architecture in fact and not only in structure.

This is the Panakal thesis proper — the claim the whole investigation began from, argued in Kerala in the 1990s from five printed bibles and one dictionary. On this site it is held at Tier C: coherent, motivated, not established. That grade is not a dismissal. It means the claim’s evidence lives inside a granted premise — the tradition’s own doctrine that its texts are authored and inerrant — and can be argued against that premise with real force while remaining unprovable outside it. The textual case presents the argument as a method under study: its rules, its calibration record, its known failure modes, and the score it earns on checks stated in advance.

Two disciplines govern this form everywhere on the site. It is severable: every claim in the first two forms survives its deletion, and nothing in the textual case is ever used to upgrade a Tier A or B claim. And it is confronted with its own counter-evidence: the canon dramatizes the two figures as distinct persons, repeatedly, and the Other Reading states that case at full strength — including the price the identification pays for its answer to it.

Why nest a hypothesis at all?

Because the alternative is what actually happened for two millennia. Stated at maximum strength, the claim triggers what the capstone paper calls the categorical sort — fantasy to the secular reader, blasphemy to the believing one — and the sort fires before any structure is examined. Nesting does not soften the thesis; it prices it. Each rung states exactly what you must grant to stand on it, and exactly what evidence would knock it away. A reader who refuses the summit keeps the mountain.

The strata continue downward: every claim behind these forms, graded · the textual case itself · the full papers.
